Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, professionally known as Les Twins are French dancers, choreographers, producers, models, designers, and actors. They are recognized internationally for their talents in new style hip-hop dancing as well as other various dancing styles. The Twins were born in Paris, France and are the youngest in a large, extended Guadeloupean family of 18 children. Growing up very poor, Larry and Laurent began dancing on the streets of Paris for money. It wasn’t long before they were battling their way through the underground dance scene and gaining worldwide recognition for the way they moved with kinetic energy in a synchronized fashion, that would set them apart from other dancers. The duo danced their way into the hearts of millions around the world. The self-taught dance duo became the darlings of the French audience in 2008 as finalists on the television show Incroyable Talent. They quickly rose to prominence in the U.S after a video of their performance on the San Diego leg of the 2010 World of Dance tour went viral on YouTube, with over 46 million views as of 2020. In March 2011, the twins won the Hip-hop New Style division at Juste Debout. They were also star dancers on the Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil until December 2011. That same year they performed alongside Beyoncé at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, the U.K.'s Glastonbury Festival, the BET Awards, leading to garnering even greater attention on the world stage. Their collaboration with Knowles would continue into 2013 when they toured with Beyoncé as the only male dancers on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. In 2014, Les Twins joined Beyoncé and Jay-Z on their On the Run Tour and returned again for Coachella. They have been featured in numerous web, television, and print advertising campaigns, including Jay-Z’s viral video campaign "That’s Rocawear", New Era, Benetton, Givenchy, H&M, Chanel, Adidas, Beats By Dre and Hewlett-Packard to name a few. More recently, Les Twins became the face of Diesel’s Only The Brave street cologne. In 2017 the twins made world news by winning Jennifer Lopez’s World of Dance competition on NBC. They are Currently Judges for Canadian TV Show Revolution. In 2021, they appeared on the silver screen with their first major movie, playing the main Aliens in Gary F Gray’s MIB International. They also appeared in the universal film CATS as Plato & Socrates. From the streets of Paris to the stages at Coachella alongside Beyoncé, and now onto the big screen, Les Twins have changed the dance world and raised the bar for dancers worldwide.
