Angela Lindvall
Angela Lindvall is renowned for her creative versatility: she brings that quality to her professional life as a model, actress and TV host, as well as to her private life as a student, teacher of kundalini yoga, avid environmentalist, wellness advocate, and mother. Angela has appeared on the cover of many major publications, including all the international Vogues, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, ID, Dazed and Confused and many more. Angela's "chameleon" like qualities has made her one of the most sought after models and one of the few to work with nearly every major fashion house, including the likes of Prada, Chanel, Valentino, Gucci, Louie Vitton, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Jill Sander, Chloe, Stella McCartney and Versace, to name a few. In 2002, Angela made the natural transition from the runway to the silver screen. Lindvall’s film work includes a lead in CQ (directed by Roman Coppola, 2002) and the cult movie Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (Shane Black, 2005). In 2007, she co-hosted “Alter Eco”, one of Discovery Channel’s first Planet Green shows, with fellow actor Adrian Grenier. She also appeared in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere in 2010 and again in Romans latest film Charles Swan in 2012. Lindvall also hosted Lifetime’s Project Runway All Stars (2012). In recent years, Lindvall embarked on a journey of self-discovery, one prompted by a set of life challenges as well as the need to realign her professional priorities with her personal philosophy and beliefs. Since the age of 15 she has studied voraciously on a variety of subjects, from psychology and religion to mythology and metaphysics, became a yogi and created a small, sustainable farm in her own back yard. An outspoken, longtime environmentalist, Lindvall tends this garden with her two young sons in order to teach them about the symbiosis we have with our planet. Her appreciation for her surroundings and neighborly community naturally led her to explore self-care and wellness. “Working in fashion, with such incredibly talented people, is always an inspiration,” she notes. “My dream is to further develop my ability for creative expression, and to use that to uplift and inspire others in a way that is not directly about me.” For Lindvall, well-being is necessarily a global conversation about finding solutions. “Self-care implies not only caring for yourself physically and spiritually, it means taking care of the world we live in,” she observes. “In that sense, self-care is probably the most important thing we can do for ourselves and for our planet.” In that spirit, Lindvall has designed her home as a small ecosanctuary that she makes available for occasional health and well-being retreats. Throughout her fashion career, one of the things Lindvall says she strived to learn is how to let loose without self-judgment or trying to be perfect. “That is not an easy journey, for me or for any woman who has ever compared herself unfavorably to others,” she notes. What inspires her now is authenticity, living in the present and consciously cultivating happiness. “For me, that means being with my family, travel, cooking, learning about other cultures, seeing different ways of life, and practicing appreciation and gratitude,” Lindvall continues. “One of my teachers once told me, ‘If you want to master something, teach it!’ My hope is to use my skills and knowledge to help empower other women, not by telling them they should be like anyone else, but by helping to teach them how they can create their own harmony and feel their best.
